Hi, I'm Christine Boodie, the creator of Alisol.
My personal health journey started when I was 19 years old. I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkins' Lymphoma. My whole world turned upside down, in a matter of a few days after diagnosis, I was pulled out of my college courses and started chemotherapy. I remember wondering Why me? Why this? Why now? It was tough, physically, and emotionally. The road to recovery was not easy, however, when I retell the story I talk about that time being the best few months of my life, despite the hardship. I ate all my favorite homecooked Guyanese food, drank coconut water, beet juice, and spent all my time with my family.
I laughed, I cried, I healed.
I now am more intuned in my body. I make choices that align with my purpose and centers my wellness.
In hindsight, I believe that I needed to go through that experience to get me to the place I'm in now. It's been 10 years of remission, reflection, self-discovery, and trial, and error. I'm not perfect, I'm forever a student to this world. And I enjoy every moment!
Along my journey I had help and what I now call my "Care Team." It includes my doctors, therapist, and life coach. I want to be part of your Care Team. Where ever you are in your life, I can support you on your journey to living the healthy life you deserve.
"Turn the Soil."
My Mom is the garden expert of our family. Her secret to growing an abundance of vegetables and fruits EVERY YEAR in her NYC backyard is to "turn the soil." What a metaphor for life! We do the same thing, make the same choices, and expect a different result. Aren't you tired?! Make a change.
How will you turn the soil in your life?
